North Manor Labour Party members have selected Julie Southworth as their candidate for the local elections in May 2026.

This is now the most marginal seat in Bury North after Councillor John Southworth won what was previously a Conservative stronghold in 2024.

For many years, Julie has been an active community volunteer, fundraiser and campaigner in our local area.
Julie is the Chair of the Greenmount Village Community Group. Her various roles include coordination of the conservation project at Island Lodge, management of Greenmount Village Green and exciting plans for Peel Tower.
She has also delivered footpath restoration, community green spaces, and new public seating and holds regular community events such as Cuppa and Chat.
A member of the Bury Older Persons Network, Bury VCFA, she is also a member of the choir at St Hilda's and the Square Street Singers.
