This week, North Manor Labour volunteers distributed over 1,000 letters to Walmersley residents, providing updates on the proposed development at the Walmersley Brook/Gin Hall site. During this outreach, we engaged with many residents, learned more about the site, and picked up casework items. We are now addressing the issues raised.

Seasonal events are underway. John attended the Summerseat Christmas Cheer fundraiser at the Canon Lewis Hall on Thursday, supporting this longstanding community initiative. On Saturday, we supported the Christmas Fayre in aid of Kirklees Valley Wildlife Rescue.

Both John and Julie have been preparing for their musical performances, with John joining the Greenmount Strummers and Julie rehearsing with the Square Street Singers.

The week also included attending and organising AGMs for the Huntfold Residents Group, Bury VCFA at the Fusiliers Museum, and the Greenmount Village Community group.

Departmental meetings, casework, and a door-knocking session in Holcombe Brook completed a productive week.

John is one of your three councillors in North Manor. Since being elected in 2024, he has assisted many residents with a diverse range of issues throughout the ward, including housing, highways, flooding, pavements, bins, drains, fly tipping, planning and campaigning for improved bus services.
